The Initiative: Jobs Plus Project
Plus Dane Housing’s Jobs Plus project is a vital community hub for employment support and wellbeing. As demand grew, the venue reached full capacity, creating a critical need for a private, confidential space for sensitive customer conversations away from the busy main centre.
This social value partnership transformed a space into a brand-new support environment:
- Travis Perkins: Donated a high-quality outdoor pod, internal flooring, and sealant, while coordinating logistics and finishing to ensure the structure was weatherproof.
- Heron: Provided project management and skilled trades to install the pod efficiently and to a high standard.
- Plus Dane: Their internal team completed the electrical installation, ensuring the pod is heated and functional for year-round use.
The Impact
The new outdoor pod has transformed local service delivery:
- The additional space supports more customers weekly, reducing wait times for skills and employment advice.
- Residents now have a safe, confidential setting for sensitive conversations away from the main hub.
